My name is Jenna
I’m 40 years old, and I’m an advocate, educator, and champion for inclusion.
I’ve been involved in disability advocacy for almost 30 years—ever since I was 10 years old. Living with cerebral palsy and legal blindness, I’ve used my own life experience to push for real change in classrooms, communities, and policies.
Advocacy isn’t just what I do - it’s who I am.
I’ve taught in both schools and universities, always making sure accessibility is part of the conversation. One of my proudest moments was receiving an honorary degree in Social Work from the University of Victoria in recognition of my commitment to equity and inclusion.
Outside of education, I’ve worked with several non-profits and a disability resource center. I also founded VOCYL, a youth advocacy group I led for 12 years, and have served on both the CLV and CLBC boards.
Whether I’m giving a talk, painting as a self-taught artist, or diving into tech projects, I bring heart, humour, and determination to everything I do.
My goal is simple: to spark meaningful change and help build a world where everyone belongs.

so we lift our voices
some of the very special friends and fellows in my life
